Glossary of Library & Information Science aims to support the purpose of Librarianship Studies & Information Technology to provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all. It should be no surprise that as technology advances, these processes make more sense to implement, replacing the escalating number of employees lost, due to a slowing economy. I am unsure of exactly what technology is, but I do understand it can be both helpful and harmful.
Although political approaches have obviously ethical ramifications, many philosophers who have adopted such approaches do not engage in explicit ethical reflection on technology. Comprehensive works such as Vitruvius’ De architectura (first century BC) and Agricola’s De re metallica (1556) paid much attention to practical aspects of technology but little to philosophy.
This is a relatively recent development, which started around the middle of the nineteenth century, and is responsible for great differences between modern technology and traditional, craft-like techniques. There are lots of different educational games on a variety of subjects, and preschoolers can increase their language and literacy skills, spatial and mathematical reasoning and subject knowledge in a way that often feels effortless.
ICT is sometimes used synonymously with IT (for information technology); however, ICT is generally used to represent a broader, more comprehensive list of all components related to computer and digital technologies than IT. Much the same could be said about Arendt, in particular her discussion of technology in The human condition (1958), although her position in the canon of humanities philosophy of technology is not as prominent.
So, usually there is a lack of technical detail and understanding of the whole product or technology and its application to the mission area. So not every school or student will be in position to use technology in the classroom. TAM suggests users formulate a positive attitude toward the technology when they perceive the technology to be useful and easy to use (Davis, 1989).
